ABOUT JORDAN FELIZ

Dove Award-winning New Artist of the Year Jordan Feliz hails from Central California where he began his professional music career as the frontman for a mainstream rock band that generated a loyal fan base, record sales, and an active tour itinerary. Eventually, Feliz decided to strike out on his own as a solo Christian artist, and moved to Nashville to record his first EP as an independent artist. After signing with Centricity Music in 2015, Feliz released his first project, Beloved, in September of that year.  The project’s first single, “The River,” became a massive No. 1 single on several Billboard charts for multiple weeks. This success led to Feliz’s first full album, The River, that debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart. The second single, “Never Too Far Gone,” became Feliz’s second No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Hot AC/CHR chart. This success led to a nomination for Breakout Single of the Year (“The River”) at the K-LOVE Awards in June 2016, followed by three Dove nominations for Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (“The River”) and New Artist of the Year, which he won Oct. 12, 2016 at the 47th Annual Dove Awards. For more information, visit www.jordanfeliz.com.

ABOUT LOVE & THE OUTCOME
Comprised of singer/songwriter Jodi King and bassist Chris Rademaker, Love & The Outcome’s debut self-titled LP released in 2013 and launched the duo as a mainstay act at Christian radio and on the touring circuit. While their first project was created out of personal hardships, the latest release, These Are The Days, takes the husband/wife duo into a more restful, yet celebratory, season. Beginning the album in California and wrapping in Nashville, These Are The Days was produced by Colin Munroe and GRAMMY® Award winner Seth Mosley. The powerhouse producers easily blend the new songs with a variety of influences that inspire both Chris and Jodi, including 80’s U2 and The Police, to Coldplay, Bleachers and Tame Impala, while lyrically taking the songs to a unique mix of worship, praise celebration and declaration. For more information, visit www.LoveAndTheOutcome.com.

ABOUT NATHAN TASKER

Nathan Tasker is a storyteller with a deep desire to awaken hearts to a beautiful and believable Savior. The Australian singer-songwriter weaves his personal journey of sorrow, doubt, hope and expectation into songs that echo far beyond his life. His critically acclaimed debut album, Home, (produced by Charlie Peacock and Jason Ingram) was a knockout, spawning three No.1 radio singles in Australia and one No.1 radio single in the UK. To top that, the acoustic singer-songwriter, known for his exceptional live guitar skills and passionate vocals, was named 2011 Australian Artist of the Year by The Rock Across Australia. He spent time touring with established and well-loved acts Bebo Norman and Andrew Peterson, along with sell-out shows in the UK and Australia. Tasker’s latest album, Man On A Wire, was produced by Paul Moak (Third Day, Mat Kearney) and showcases his growth through a period of great sorrow and loss (Tasker & his wife lost her father to cancer in 2011, followed by the loss of twin babies that same year). In his live show, the singer-songwriter connects with his audiences not only through his timeless, guitar-driven pop songs and deeply thoughtful lyrics, but also through his open and engaging style that puts fans at ease and welcomes them into the stories he tells.

ONE SOLITARY LIFE: Good news is, He’s Alive and ALL IS WELL.

December 24, 2016 MichaelWSmith.com News 92

Lest we not forget.

He is still the reason for the season.
Always will be.
Singing about a Man
Who was a Baby,
Who became a Boy
Who became a Man.

Born in an obscure village.
A Child of a peasant woman.
He actually grew up in another village where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.
And for three years, He was an itinerant preacher.

He never owned a home.
Never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He never really had a family of His own.
Never went to college.
Never set foot in a big city.
He never traveled 200 miles from the place He was born.
He never did things that usually accompany greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.

While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him.
His friends ran away.
Even one of His best friends denied Him.
He was turned over to His enemies.
He went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on this earth and that was His coat.
And when he was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen long centuries have come and gone and today He is still the centerpiece of the human race, and leader of the column of progress.
I’m far within the mark when I say that all the armies that were ever marched, all the navies that were ever built, all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, all put together, have not affected the lives on this Earth as powerfully as has that

ONE SOLITARY LIFE.

Good news is, He’s Alive and ALL IS WELL.
(adapted from an essay by Dr. James Allan Francis)

August 12, 2016 MichaelWSmith.com News 106

Give this link to your Worship and Choir Directors:  https://brentwoodbenson.com/Choral/Christmas/Almost-There/001SC05190AF

=====================================================

About The Musical:

There are times when God leads us to places that seem impossible to reach and calls us to do what seems impossible to do. Over 2,000 years ago, God called Mary on a journey that would lead her to deliver the long-awaited Christ Child in Bethlehem. Filled with anticipation, she remained obedient to the divine call He placed in her life.

Almost There invites your community to experience the awe and wonder of Christmas as Mary did many years ago. May this unique take on a familiar story draw your heart closer to the expectation of Christ’s coming and finally the angel’s joyful song of His miraculous arrival.

June 16, 2016 MichaelWSmith.com News 83

AG.MWS.JS-Poster-WebUseKicking Off Nov. 11 in Los Angeles, Annual Holiday Tour Expands With Additional Dates, West Coast Markets

Tour Will Help Promote and Raise Awareness for Operation Christmas Child

Nashville, Tenn. (June 16, 2016) – Once again rekindling their synonymous holiday music magic, multi-platinum GRAMMY® winners Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith will co-bill their popular symphony-filled Christmas tour this year, joined by Republic recording artist Jordan Smith, Season 9 winner of NBC’s “The Voice.” Incorporating a full symphony orchestra at each performance, this seasonal crowd-pleaser is expanding this year with additional dates added on the West Coast. Set to kick off Nov. 11 in Los Angeles, the tour will travel to nearly 20 major markets across the U.S. including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Detroit, Dallas, Tulsa, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Baltimore and more.

Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith draw hundreds of thousands to their concerts each year and their joint Christmas tours have become some of the most anticipated holiday events of the season. With a vast collection of critically-acclaimed holiday albums between them, the 2016 Christmas tour will showcase selections from their extensive Christmas repertoires. Additionally, the Christmas tour will help benefit Operation Christmas Child, known for distributing over 135 million shoeboxes of Christmas gifts to children in need in 150 countries.

“Being on stage with Amy and a full symphony orchestra, performing some of my all-time favorite songs, is a dream come true,” says Michael W. Smith. “And I have to say, I have never heard a voice quite as pure and beautiful as Jordan Smith’s. It’s going to be a great night!”

“Christmas is my favorite time of year, and performing these holiday shows each November and December is a major highlight for me,” Grant adds. “I’m thrilled to share the stage with Michael and Jordan, and I’m so glad some new audiences will be able to join in the Christmas spirit with us this year. I can’t wait!”

“One of my favorite things about Christmas is the music that accompanies the season,” shares Jordan Smith. “I’m so excited to join Michael and Amy, two legendary performers and personal favorites, to celebrate the holidays and support such a deserving cause!”

With critical praise from USA Today, The New York Times, Huffington Post, Country Weekly and more, his latest holiday album, Michael W. Smith & Friends: The Spirit ofChristmas, found Michael W. Smith collaborating with Vince Gill, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Nettles, Bono, Michael McDonald and Grant.

Following the recent release of the 25th anniversary rendition of Amy Grant’s iconic “Baby Baby (feat. Tori Kelly)” single, Grant is currently in the studio recording new music for her brand new Christmas album slated for an October release.

Jordan Smith will also release his first-ever Christmas album coinciding with the tour. The holiday release follows his debut album Something Beautiful, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the highest ranking on the chart by any winner of a television singing competition in almost five years, making Smith the best-selling artist in the history of “The Voice.”

MWS-PrayForOrlando

I’m known as a writer. I’ve written countless songs. I’ve written 12 books. But the events in Orlando have left me without words. My heart aches for the loss of life and for the injuries that were sustained. And no death or injury is isolated – the ripple effect and devastation felt by family and friends of the victims is unimaginable.

So – while my words fail – the word of God doesn’t.

Psalm 34:18 tells us:
THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED; HE RESCUES THOSE WHOSE SPIRITS ARE CRUSHED. And Psalms 42:11 reads: WHY AM I DISCOURAGED? WHY IS MY HEART SO SAD? I WILL PUT MY HOPE IN GOD. I WILL PRAISE HIM AGAIN – MY SAVIOR AND MY GOD!

My dear brothers and sisters in Orlando – my prayers will continue to cover you.

  • 8:00 am:  Disembarkation begins.
    • On our inspection cruise, It took us only 20 minutes to get from walking off the ship, to walking into the Ft. Lauderdale airport.  It is very simple and fast.
      A couple recommendations:

      • Walk off with your luggage instead of having the ship take your bags off the ship.
      • TAKE A TAXI to the airport – it’s very affordable and much faster than taking a bus.

*Guests are welcome to eat with the group or make their own dining reservations at one of Oasis of the Seas over 20 restaurants – some restaurants do cost extra on the ship, but all meals in the Opus Dining room are included.
**We will have a Youth director with our group planning specific activities exclusive to MWS Cruisers that are youth group aged cruisers throughout the cruise.

Please know that this is NOT final and while we hope that it is mostly correct, changes may occur at any time without notice.  We will do everything we can to make sure that we don’t interfere with your “in-port” times, so you can plan what/where/when you’re doing excursions.

OK, now that you’ve read the ENTIRE schedule we know that you are ready to book your cabin and join Michael W. Smith and all of his guests on the cruise… right?  Go here to get all of the details.

THE PASSION: A Good Friday Note From Michael…

March 25, 2016 MichaelWSmith.com News 83

Just wanted to thank all of you who supported THE PASSION… And who prayed for us… And prayed for all those that watched. It was so powerful… I will never forget. Jesus… Primetime television… That doesn’t happen every day… I am so grateful. Was such an honor to share the stage with Seal, Jean Carlos, Prince Royce, Trisha Yearwood, Chris Daughtry, Shane Harper, Gabriel Conte and the rest of the disciples and cast.

You can still watch this weekend… On Hulu and… On demand.

Blessings to all of you as we ponder and remember what He did for us on this Good Friday. And we all know what happened on the third day… We shall dance and celebrate on Sunday. God bless all of you.

Godspeed!

Michael W.
