12/20 - STAR WARS™...NOTHING BUT STAR WARS™...
In celebration of the launch of the new STAR WARS™: The Old Republic video game, Zach joined over a hundred other plainclothes warriors in a battle among Jedi and Sith in the first ever lightsaber freeze mob duel in the heart of New York's Times Square. 10/24 - STATEN ISLAND PHILHARMONIC
On Saturday, November 12th, Zach will be performing with several members of the Staten Island Philharmonic orchestra at a benefit concert, alongside fellow singers Erin Cronican, Blair Alexis Brown and Tony Imgrund. The concert will be held at Temple B'nai Jeshurun, 275 Martling Avenue on Staten Island. Proceeds go towards enabling this instrumentalist-run orchestra to continue to offer quality symphonic, opera and pops concerts for the greater Staten Island community.

 

9/12 - "THESE TWO" A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!
These Two: Songs of Happiness, Heartbreak, and Hope was held at the Triad to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, and enjoyed a very enthusiastic, completely packed house. The concert included performances by several Broadway regulars and with music direction by Benjamin Rauhala, and successfully raised a substantial amount of money for a very worthy cause. 8/28 - A LITTLE BIT OF OPERA
On Thursday, October 13th, Zach will dust off the opera pipes to perform concerts at the Stuyvesant Town Oval with New York-based La Piccola Opera Company. This group has performed abridged versions of popular operas for public and private engagements, including senior centers, public park venues and schools, throughout the tri-state area. The first concert will be Bizet's Carmen, in which Zach will be singing the role of the Toreador, at 4:30 p.m. The second concert will be selections from Carmen, Barber of Seville and La Traviata, at 7:30 p.m.

 

8/7 - BENEFIT CONCERT
On Monday, September 12th, at The Triad NYC, Zach will be performing in THESE TWO: Songs of Happiness, Heartbreak, and Hope, featuring the music of Georgia Stitt and Jason Robert Brown, a one-night-only concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. The show will feature Broadway veterans, as well as some of the city's best new voices, with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala. Tickets are dirt cheap and available here.

 

7/25 – PARADE CANCELLED
Due to various production difficulties, Musically Human Theatre’s inaugural production of Parade has been cancelled. Although this is an unfortunate setback for this brand new company, founder/artistic director David Norwood reports that spirits are undiminished, and all systems are go for the developmental reading of a new musical work in October.

 

7/14 – A SHORT FILM SHOOT
Zach digs out some vintage threads and heads to the famed Lenox Lounge in Harlem to shoot a scene for Region of Unlikeness, a short film based on the fictional story of the same title written by Rivka Galchen and published in The New Yorker.

 

7/10 - ONSTAGE
Zach will be playing the roles of the Old Soldier and Judge Roan in the Musically Human Theatre's upcoming production of Parade, the Tony award-winning musical by Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry. Performances begin September 1st in Tribeca at Soho Rep's Walkerspace theater. Click here for details.

6/26 - THREE FOR THREE!
Big Guns was awarded Best Comedy at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. The enthusiastic response this movie continues to receive is lovely, a bit overwhelming, and very much appreciated. A big thank you to the organizers and participants of the festival!
 

 

6/14 - "INTERVENTION!" IS A HIT!
The 2011 West Village Musical Theatre Festival awarded Intervention! for Best Lyrics in their short works series, as well as Honorable Mention awards in the categories of Best Musical, Best Score, Best Script and Best Director. Congratulations to Jeff Ward for a terrific period piece and director Rachel Dart for her diligence and hard work in making this little gem of a musical shine so brightly.

 

6/9 - THEY LIKE US! THEY REALLY LIKE US!
We've just been informed that Big Guns has received the Best of the Festival (Audience Award) from the Hoboken International Film Festival! A big thank you to all the producers, organizers and sponsors of the festival for such a warm welcome, and especially to the participants who enjoyed seeing our movie as much as we enjoyed making it. 6/7 - "BIG GUNS" IN IMAX
We have received scheduling updates from the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, and Big Guns will be featured twice. The first showing is Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in Raven Comedy Lounge at 1718 Sansom Street. The second is Saturday, June 25th at 5:30 p.m., at the auspicious IMAX Theatre located in the Franklin Institute Science Museum. Details can be found here.
 

5/23 - PHILLY FEVER
We have just been informed that Big Guns is now an official selection of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival! Although the schedule has yet to be announced, the festival dates are June 22-26. Details and updates on venues and screen times can be found here.

 

5/6 - GOING TO THE FESTIVAL
Zach will be playing the role of Howard DaSilva in Jeff Ward's Intervention!, a one-act musical historical fiction set around the opening of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma!. The show is one of nearly a dozen one-act musicals featured in the upcoming West Village Musical Theatre Festival, which runs June 8-12 at the 13th Street Repertory Company Theatre. 4/28 - THIS TIME, IT'S LOCAL
Big Guns has been accepted by the Hoboken International Film Festival. The film will be screened at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5th, at the Cedar Lane Cinemas in Teaneck, New Jersey. Tickets and additional information can be found here.

4/16 - CONGRATULATIONS!
It's official! Big Guns was awarded Best Comedy by a New Director by the Downtown Boca Film Festival. Congratulations to director Chris McDonnell, who also wrote and starred in the movie, and thanks to him for the opportunity to join him in such a tremendously well-crafted and fun project.
 

4/11 - OPENING NIGHT
Big Guns premiered at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center in Boca Raton, Florida, to a very positive reception. Initial buzz has been promising and very encouraging, both from festival staff and audience alike. Thanks to all the organizers, sponsors and volunteers of the Downtown Boca Film Festival, as well as the festival attendees, for getting the film of to such a positive start.

 

3/2 - LOOK FOR THE UNION LABEL
As of earlier today, Zach is now a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).

 

1/14 - MORE "BIG GUNS" NEWS
Today, the producers announced that the film has been accepted by the 2011 Downtown Boca Film Festival (formerly known as the Delray Beach Film Festival) in Boca Raton, Florida, running from April 9-17. We are also advised that the festival organizers would like to feature Big Guns as one of the opening works. Click here for updates on schedules, film and venue information.
